The screengrabs and captions below walk through the process of how the above image was created. Originals were all edited in Adobe Lightroom Classic - editing process all completed in Adobe Photoshop

Base Image - a foggy Stirling Castle from December 2022

Replacement sky - over the Ochil Hills - 12 August 2024

Masking the sky. Select sky from base image and use 'Select and Mask' option to refine. Not convinced with the purple option so off to look for another...

This green glowing sky was taken over the River Forth in Alloa in October 2024 - much preferred this.

Custom brushes used here to add some extra fog, flowing this along the Castle Hill contours

Adjustment Layers - Curves for tone, Hue/Saturation for some colour tweaking - added to make the whole scene pop a bit more.

Some further adjustment layers clipped above the base image to help colour match the green glow from the new sky

Used the same mask already created to clip some large text behind the castle. Changed the layer blend and used some advanced layer blending to marry all the elements together

Seeing this now, think it needs some animation to bring it all to life... 🤔
And the short animation below pulls all the above together into sequence
