I'm never one to doze on a bus or train journey at the best of times, but especially not when everything out of the window is new to me. There's always something unique to the country and culture to take in, even in a tourist packed area in Italy like this. The people, the architecture, the transport system and, in amongst all that, the natural and historical heritage squeezed in. Like a volcano and an ancient Roman city.
