Still Not a Photographer
My photographic pursuits have absolutely developed – or sneaked in a side door – from my career and background in graphic design and much of the imagery I produce evidences this. Colour, composition, balance, symmetry, texture, proportion and scale are all elements that I consider when I take a photographs, just as they are if I’m working on a piece of graphic design. As an escape from the hurly-burly day to day much of my photography takes place in the local environment, in the quiet spaces where nature inspires. But the press of the shutter is only the starting point and I take great creative joy from spending time coaxing an image from one just taken to one fully made.
But I’m still not a photographer.
