More weather for ducks today. Or one-legged gulls*.
Wasted some time messing around with the uncharted (to me) areas of Facebook, setting up a page to keep my photography on and away from the other activities. Always been reticent about that, what with their Ts & Cs when it comes to shared images and the fact they strip out all of the EXIF data on anything posted, but felt I can't say it's definitely not for me until I'd gave it a proper test drive. Can see where Zuckerberg and crew make their money with this stuff now and how they can keep the basic service free. A pound or two to promote your page, a few more to boost your posts, and all too easy to set up; could easily run up a small fortune in a short space of time. I get the feeling too that if you don't dip into that at some point your posts disappear somewhere into the deepest, darkest corners of some server farm before anyone ever sees them. Clever stuff.
*Pretty sure this had two legs, though I never saw it the five minutes or so I was watching - as they (and swans apparently) have a habit of resting on one leg, with the other tucked up under the feathers. Or maybe it had had a close call with one of the local cats.
