iBri Daily-ish

So, the daily post thing's now pie in the sky. Posts will arrive here as and when. Daily-ish. Weekly-ish. Random-ish.

The City of Stirling. Small but perfectly formed.

February 2016 version. First shot this view, from this same location back in January 2010. That was with a 300mm lens on a Canon EOS400D, this with a Sony Nex-7 and  at 210mm. It was one of those shots that I've looked at so much I wasn't sure if I even liked it any more. Today we drove past the spot and, as I caught this in the car's mirror, burled a 360 at the next roundabout, parked up, louped a gate and climbed up to as high a vantage point to cut out the trees that had grown a bit taller in the time since the last version. Much more snow on Beinn Each and Stuc a'Chroin this time, and the castle was lit up rather tastily in the winter sunshine.

Nice to compare the two shots now, six years apart. Think I still like it.

And no,  those mountains aren't photoshopped in.

January 31st 2010. Shot with my first proper digital camera.

For the pixel-peepers out there, the two crops below show the difference in the level of detail with the two different cameras.
