iBri Daily-ish

So, the daily post thing's now pie in the sky. Posts will arrive here as and when. Daily-ish. Weekly-ish. Random-ish.

Apologies for the gratuitous short-fat-hairy-bloodied-and-bruised-legs-shot, but this is what happens when you're wearing shorts and skin meets pavement in

More for a personal record this entry...

Was just saying that once you got past the roundabout here it was plain pedalling all the way. Got caught out today though.

Must've jumped up this kerb hundreds of times now*, never missed a beat. Completely mi-times it today though; back wheel refused to climb and ended up catapulted over the bars and rolling along the pavement. Did the usual "yeah...meant to do that" jump straight back up and look around to see if anybody had noticed the ever so inelegant dismount. Watched my knee fill up with fluid and picked the gravel out of the bits I could. Bike was all good (pannier bags acted as good airbags) so finished off the commute with a fair bit of grimacing going on.

Didn't greet. But, having a few days off the cycling.

*I know we shouldn't ride the pavement, but in the three years plus I've commuted I've met one pedestrian (same one, twice in the same week too) and what with the narrow roads and the double white lines for a few hundred yards I try to be a courteous road user and let the rush hour cars, buses and lorries keep moving whilst I get out of the road. It's the only bit of the commute that's not cycle friendly and, what with the increased two-wheeled traffic heading into the City this way, hope its not long before something better's made of it. Otherwise, someone's going to come a cropper along here...
