See... this is why you can't have nice things.
It's not been active a year yet, but the cycle counter near the Old Stirling Bridge is already FUBAR. Someone decided to decommission the information panel, at 21:16 on the 14th January this year, and it's been stuck on that ever since. It was handy whilst it worked too; seeing how many cyclists had passed before you on the morning commute, and how many had passed over the course of the day. On good weather days it ticked over steadily, on less cycle-friendly days it was a bit slower to accumulate. By the end of the year the number of people passing here on cycles, out of cars and off the busy roads nearby, was encouraging and helped keep the winter commuters pedalling on through the worst of it. But, now some numpties've gone and crippled it (no mean feat as it's a pretty sturdy structure) and it's now frozen at the time it was taken out. No idea what satisfaction anyone got from that.
So, we're now all bike No.3840.
