Still Not a Photographer
My photographic pursuits have developed – or sneaked in a side door – from my career and background in graphic design, and much of the imagery I produce leverages this. Colour, composition, balance, symmetry, texture, proportion and scale are all elements that I assess when I plan a photograph, just as they are if I’m working on a piece of graphic design. As an escape from the hurly-burly day to day much of my photography takes place in the local environment, in the quiet spaces where nature inspires. Very selfishly photographing for me I guess. The press of the shutter is only the starting point and I take great creative satisfaction from coaxing an image from one captured to one fully realised.
But I’m still not a photographer.
